Lost Country

At 15, Jess realized that she was pregnant. Unable to face the reality, she fled her family and small town in Texas. Abortion just wasn’t an option for girls growing up there and she didn’t know what to do. Jess went from place to place, struggling to get by and stay safe on the road. She came across some fellow runaways and for a moment felt a sense of belonging again, until she lost the baby. She’s been trying to outrun her past ever since. Unfortunately, no matter where she goes, her choices still haunt her. Jess has been on the road for 9 years. While staying in Detroit she meets Jake and Dylan, best friends since childhood. They’ve been drifting through life having a good time. Unlike most people who don’t get to know Jess, these two get a chance to see the beauty inside her and take her into their lives. When the trio is forced to flee Detroit they set out on a trip across America. When Dylan and Jake find out Jess ran away they decide they have to get her back home. What neither of the guys expect is how they’ll feel when the journey is over. As they make their way across the country, they help Jess face the past so she can find the way forward. Lost Country is a story of forgiveness, redemption, and the power of having a sense of place.
