Dead man’s wire

During the lively morning hours of February 8th, 1977, a desperate Tony Kiritsis enters the office of Richard O. Hall, president of the Meridian Mortgage Company, to take him hostage. Tony wires a sawed-off shotgun to Hall’s neck with a ‘dead man’s wire’ tied to the trigger—if Richard runs or the police intervene… trigger pulls, blood spills.

Tony claims that Richard and his father have ripped him off and his demands are clear: $5 million dollars, immunity from prosecution and a personal apology. Tensions surge while a team of negotiators try to diffuse the high-stakes showdown, but Tony will only speak with his favorite Radio DJ as he broadcasts his plight to the nation.

As the standoff reaches day 2, Tony’s frayed nerves and the swirling media circus threaten to escalate a wild confrontation into a bloody showdown. Is Tony a folk hero battling against an unjust system or an insane vigilante?
