RADICAL HIGH
Was Elvis’ fall from grace the Colonel’s fault or was Elvis’s self-destructive nature too much for the Colonel to control? That’s just one of the many facets of the story we want to explore.
With the Colonel Parker estate unlocking the doors to its archive for the first time ever, this documentary will delve into the true story - not the villainous cartoon that people were meant to embrace, but a man who desperately fought for those he cared about regardless of the cost to himself.
We’re not looking to create a myth that paints Colonel Tom Parker as a hero. However, this was a lion of a man who loved fiercely and accomplished what no manager before him had ever done. He took unimaginable risks knowing that failure could be devastating. But he always maintained that he did that in his client’s best interest. We won’t decide for the audience how he should be remembered. Instead, we’ll present a true picture of the man and let the audience decide whether there really is a hero or a villain in this story.
The Black Hat will be centered around the untold story between the Colonel and Elvis, but through that A story we’ll veer off to a B story that tells the enigmatic life story of the Colonel and how he evolved from a poor immigrant to one of the greatest entertainment businessmen of all time.
